    Windows Firewall service won't start

    Hello

I always had Firewall turned off, but then I realised it's a quite useful thing. So when I checked it, it said: "Windows Firewall is not using the recommended settings to protect your computer." When I press "Use recommended settings" nothing happens. Then I checked services and Base Filtering Engine is running well, but Windows Firewall service can't start. It says: "Windows could not start the Windows Firewall on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 5."

I have no idea how to fix this (I have already downloaded Microsoft Windows Firewall fixer, didn't help)... Any suggestions?

Have you checked that the windows firewall authorisation driver is running in device manager?
You need to view hidden devices and its in the plug and play section.hope this helps.

Just clicked the first link adress and the solution was the comment below the question. I'm very thankful for your help! I apologize for my bad English and I guess it's time to mark this as solved. :)
