Unknown Port Activity - Risky?

CurrPorts lists two "listening" TCP ports on the following local ports on my laptop running Win 7.

49152 (local and remote address: o.o.o.o)
49170 (local and remote address: o.o.o.o)

The Process IDs of 740 and 800 do not appear in my Task Manager under services.

There is no info associated with these. Netstat also did not find any info.

Does that indicate a problem, and is it safe to disable them?

I am trying to close as many ports as possible for security.

Sorry, I can't help as I don't have an Ipad.

No, the port issue is on laptop with Win 7 but I was afraid to test it in the laptop.

My two ports do not even appear in the list of known ports.

The test must be run on the suspect machine. If your ports aren't listed it only means it's not a known port dedicated to a specific service or protocol. Windows 7 has 65,535 ports and not all are used.

In the ShieldsUp! app you can plug in those port number to check them, it's completely harmless and safe.
