I downloaded Spyware Blaster, and followed all the instructions.
I deleted Macrium and YUMI.
then I reinstalled them.
everything went very well.
I followed all the instructions.
I changed the boot order to sandisk cruzer first (my computer bios lists the sandisk cruzer as a hard drive)
I could not boot from my USB flashdrive.
the problem was the same as before. I am in a loop. I select Macrium. and it takes me back to the previous page where I choose between a regular Hard Drive boot or
an ISO.
a mite frustrating indeed.
Was the USB flashdrive written to correctly? Will it boot your other machine?
great reply. thank you.
it does the same thing on other machine.
I just tried creating a system image again using the internal windows program.
it says that I can create an image of C drive. (and only C drive. thats what I want to do.)
I tried it. and I got this message:
create a system image
the backup failed.
a volume shadow copy service operation failed. please check "vss" and "spp" application event logs for more information. (0x8078090A1)
additional information:
the writer experienced a non-transient error. if the backup process is retried, the error is likely to reoccur. (0x800423F4)
could some one please tell me how to remedy this problem?

Just recap for me.
You have a macrium .iso , which you know is fine.
You are unable to write it flash successfully.
Is that where you are up to?
Cbb reading thru 22 pages.
The screenshot you posted for Golden way back around 30 or so posts ago looks good (the Macrium iso on the flash drive), so I suspect the drive is not getting marked/coded as bootable like it should be.
I'd review the steps Golden posted and try again. YUMI is pretty failsafe in making flash drives bootable so it seems odd that it didn't work for you. This time post details of each step you take to do it so we can see where you might be going wrong.
If it is a winpe .iso I would use poweriso free version. Always works.
thanks guys.
when I go into my BIOS, I do not see an option in the boot order for booting from a flash drive.
and my sandisk cruzer flash drive shows up in the list of Hard Drives.
so I change the order of the Hard Drives, so that my sandisk cruzer flash drive is first.
I save the changes and start up.
I get the YUMI screen. it gives me 2 choices:
boot from the first HD (default).
or boot from an iso. this selelction then offers the Macrium choice. that choice just leads back to the first screen though.
and choosing the first selection just leads to a normal start up. (NOT the Macrium create a system backup screen.)
should I save Macrium onto a cd or dvd? instead of using the flash drive? and try that?
It could be a "USB vs PC vs OS" incompatibility issue.
On my course, some people are having trouble with SanDisk USB sticks and W7 (only some versions).
My SanDisk USB stick seems works OK (it's ~4 years old).
I seen problems on XP with other brands (Kinston and Lexmark).
