    funmoods

    I have funmoods on my computer. I have updated my malwarebytes Anti-Malware software and ran a full scan on my computer. Funmoods is identified and deleted as part of the scanning process. Unfortunately upon rebooting and opening up the second web page the file is always there. Any ideas on how to get rid of this problem??

    First thing I would suggest is to remove Funmoods;

    Post back results.

    Sir George,

    Thanks for your advice. I went to PCRisk as you suggested and tried to implement their suggestions. Unfortunatley with no success. In my original question I talked about the second page. What I meant was my default page is nineMSN news. When I open the web browser for the first time the default page comes up however when I tried to open a second page using the default browser the funmoods page comes up.

    Check and see if Funmoods is listed as one of your default browsers. If so, remove it from the list.

    Are you certain that Funmoods is not listed in add-ons;

    Click "Tools" (or gear icon in Internet Explorer 9), select "Manage Add-ons". Look for Funmoods Toolbar related entries (Funmoods Toolbar, Funmoods Helper Object) and disable them.

    Back again. I have checked the "Manage Add-ons" (both current and "all add-ons") and there doesn't appear to be any trace of funmoods.

    Download DR WebCureit! Dr.Web CureIt Freeware download and reviews from SnapFiles
    Save it to your desktop.

    a.. 1. Doubleclick (or right click to run as Administrator) the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the
    express scan
    b.. 2. This will scan the files currently running in memory and when
    something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to
    cure it. This is only a short scan.
    c.. 3. Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to
    scan.
    d.. 4. Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
    e.. 5. Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
    f.. 6. Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
    g.. 7. When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and
    choose save report list
    h.. 8. Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called
    DrWeb.csv
    i.. 9. Close Dr.Web Cureit.
    j.. 10. Reboot your computer....it could be possible that files in
    use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
    k.. 11. After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved
    previously in your next reply.

    I downloaded DR WebCureit, scanned all of the drives which took quite along time and although the scan picked up some suspect files etc (refer below - note I could not attach the csv file so I simply pasted it to the quote) it didn't get rid of Funmoods which reappeared when I opened the second browser page (after I rebooted the computer)
