rikvm9ec60124 Old problem..new to me.
Somehow (With Norton 360 on duty) I got This "Mal ware" supposed to be some type of WiFi .sys file. But, shut down my laptop, drained the batteries (two) and sent me into an emotional tailspin! In fact, I grabbed my iPad and spent two hours accessing all relivant utilities on it instead of my VAIO.
But, took batteries out, plugged direct to power, got access to Inet (although very slow and rough), Went to symantec and downloaded "Power Eraser"; took 4 min, ran the scan 2.5 minustes, found the offending file, isolated it and deleted it and all it's offending roots. Put the batteries back, rebooted and all is well again. In fact processor performance is 98% better than it's ever been.
