Ok, but did that alert came right after installing or running uTorrent? Or was it fired when you downloaded something else using it?

In the first case, I'm quite sure is either a false positive or a deliberate black list from the program to block uTorrent for "political" reasons, and in any case it's safe.
But if the alert came for another thing, again, it may be wise to watch out for something strange. Better do a scan with a good antivirus (Avast or Avira among the best free ones) to be sure. I don't think such an incident is worth a reformat, not at least until it proves to be a true virus tampering with the system.

I would think if MAM and Defender Offline gives you a okay you should be okay.
Their/there are many scans you could do but sooner or later it's time to stop scanning.
The fact that one has a Torrant program is not the only concern. The Torrant program could be clean. The Torrant program allows you to download something getting bits and pieces from many computers all over the world and then putting them all together to make one program/movie ect. Any one of those bits and pieces can be infected. Once a port on a system is opened for the use of a torrant download just about anything can slip in. Basically you have instructed your security programs to allow it in and in many cases it will because you have instructed it to. The owner/operator is the final security program. The owner/operator can over ride any other security program.

I was using Bittorrent for a long time and changed to utorrent bout month ago.
I went to the utorrent site and downloaded 3.2.1 and had no viris or nothing. It runs just like its suppose to.
You have to be real careful to where you get your tottents from. I was a demonoid.com member untill it died and now I have to treat every download with kid gloves cause I don't trust anything.
Maybe you have to adjust the upload/download preferences because these p2p engines are geared for the uploading of files and its sucking your internet dry making it feel like having a viris. Also set in the preferences not to have it start with windows so its not running all the time, seeding and using up your internet. I manually turn utorrent on and off as I use it not to have it seeding all the time.

It might be wise to run TDSSKiller to be sure you didn't pick up a rootkit of some kind. Better safe then sorry.
