An Instance of csrss.exe in Task Manager

    What's up group!

Newbee here! Thanks for being available!

This may be more 'virus related' and in the wrong group but i'll ask anyway...

In Windows 7 > Task Manager, i have a Process under the Image Name column called csrss.exe. It has nothing listed under User and/or Description. All blank. And when i try to end/kill the Process, i get 'Access is Denied'.

I ran at least 10 different related virus scans, all resulting in nothing found.

Anyone know what this is then? And should i be concerned?

    Thanks!

If it's running from C:\Windows\system32 then it's okay. If from anywhere else then it is probably malware.

I really wish people, who do not understand what they are doing, would stop goose chasing. If your anti-virus software says you do not have an infection, then you most likely DO NOT have an infection. csrss.exe is suppose to exists! And it is suppose to have blank data when task manager in not giving administrative power. As in, "Show processes from all users". However, DO NOT MESS WITH IT! Leave it alone for your own good.
