Was this a virus that came through my command prompt?

i was browsing the web and my command prompt window popped up for a split second and i thought i saw it say "copy file" or something to that effect, then a minute or 2 later it popped up again and under the first "copy file" it put a second one right under it and disappeared again. then an icon at the bottom of my screen appeared but i could not bring it up but it said "hp support assistant" but had a weird icon, could this be a virus or something else?

    Welcome
Make a full anti virus scan
Download and make a full scan with the free Malwarebytes.

Are you sure it wasn't the HP support assistant doing something in the background. Mine does that weekly. It also pops up odd windows when it is installing any updates. You should be able to see what is has been doing if you open it up and look in maintain.

I know nothing about H.P. but Windows 7 does not pop up cmd prompt. To the best of my knowledge their is no history of cmd. prompt. Malwarebytes is a great program but no program is a 100%.
Did you do a full virus scan with your anti virus as richc46 recommended? What anti virus do you use active?
This is a program free from Microsoft that I also recommend.

I realise this topic was started a long time ago, however, I've had the exact same thing happen to me today. It also seemed like a virus to me; something copying my files or my keyboard inputs. I use emsisoft anti-malware. It's not catching anything.

If you reply, let me know if it turned out to be a virus for you or what.
