Thanks,
diodorus No it doesn't. Only inbound connections notify. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Alienware Aurora ALX R4 OS Windows 7 x64 (SP1) CPU Intel Core i7-3930K (3.2GHz, Turbo 4GHz) Motherboard Alienware Aurora-R4 x79 Memory 4x Samsung 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (16GB 1600MHz) Graphics Card Nvidia Geforce GTX 690 (Stock) Sound Card RealTek Integrated Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell UltraSharp U3011 Screen Resolution 2560x1600 PSU 875W Some Dell PSU <.< Hard Drives Samsung P830 256 GB, WD Raptor 150GB, 2x 1TB HDDs Other Info Dell Inspiron Mini 10v (Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz; 1GB; Windows 7 Ultimate) |

A decent firewall that does a good job with outbound notifications is PC Tools Firewall Plus.. While it may not be as comprehensive as some other firewalls are, the price is right ... get it -=> here | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUSTeK Computer INC. Actually I am not looking for many features like inbound protection, as I'm behind a router, or complicated port-rules. All I need is a "program" (or would you call this a "firewall", already?) *JUST* notifying/blocking a *process* from connecting to the internet. Does such thing exist? (Ideally I would run this next to windows firewall, which is enough for me...)

Yes it will notify you if a process attempts to connect to the net... This program runs fine with the default rules, or you can get down and dirty and configure it to suit your specific needs... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUSTeK Computer INC. Yes, so far, every time a new program tries to access anything outside the local network, a warning dialog pops up and asks if you want to let it. If you say yes, it makes a permanent exception fotr that program so it won't ask you again... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Scratch built OS Windows 7 x64 Ultimate CPU i7 960 Motherboard Asus P6X58D Memory 12 Gig Corsair Dominator Graphics Card Nvidia 480 Sound Card Maudio Delta 44 + breakout box Monitor(s) Displays Dell UltraSharp U2410 24in and Samsung 21 dual monitors Screen Resolution 1920x1200 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitech G15 + N52 game pad Mouse Logitech MX518 PSU Corasair TX850 Case Cooler Master HAF Cooling Corsair H50 Hard Drives Primary: Intel X-25M G2 160G SSD

Thanks, I'll try this Sphinx Windows 7 Firewall Control (despite their horrible-looking website/logo! ). It looks "lighter" (in resources) than PC Tools Firewall Plus (but please correct me if you know more about this...)

Thanks! For what it's worth, that only works for "well behaved" processes/apps. Malware can simply deactivate or circumvent the outbound filtering, given it's already running on the machine. This is one of those religious debates in computing. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Multiple machines in various stages of decomposition.
