    Norton Internet Security

For those who use NIS as I do - does NIS 2013 offer any significant advantage over NIS 2012?

(I know there is MSE etc.)

    Hey,

I have heard that many people upgraded to the 2013 version, but they had blue screen crashes, complete system lockups and lag, that they downgraded back to 2012. Perhaps a member on here that uses the 2013 version could comment further, but I wouldn't recommend upgrading until the bugs have been fixed (confirmed that there are bugs by Norton).

    Thanks for the feedback Andrew.
I bought a 3x pack of NIS 2012 on special for Au$58 (£37) so I'll just stay with that since I have 2012 about to run out on 3 PCs.

Many complaints about NIS 2013 on the Norton forum. A lot of members over their (including myself) are staying on NIS 2012 until Norton fixes their problems. Norton has confirmed there are problems and has promissed a fix over a Month ago and we are still waiting.

FWIW, I am using NIS2013. My caveat is that I've turned off most of the "extras". I use a 64bit browser, so no Norton Toolbar. The only hiccup I've encountered is the rebootless patch that requires a reboot. That usually comes every six weeks with new versions of Firefox and Norton Toolbar. If Mozilla did not take a week off for the holidays, then it should be this week.

    Ver 20.2.0.19

    Ver 20.2.0.19
I was running 2012 with no problems. The update feature offered an up date on 12/23. Since NIS 2012 has not had any issues with my hardware I dl'd and installed. Still no issues.
I don't see "2013" anywhere or "2012" for that matter in info for the app. It does show Ver 20.2.0.19. The UI has changed somewhat from "2012".
