If i delete a virus, will my file be delted as well.
I currently use avg(free edition) as my current virus protection and I was wondering if I was to find a virus and allow my virus protection to remove it. Will the file that was infected be deleted or will the virus just be removed from the file. Thanks

Not neccesarily - it depends on the malware type, and the type of file targeted. If in doubt, do a scan without the option of automatically performing any action to see what the anti-malware suggests as a fix.

bigboi972,
To my understanding, the AVG Resident Shield scans opened files and running programs, deletes viruses automatically, and cures infected files....
