    Defender still defending?

Just noticed something interesting. After you install MSE it stops Defender from running. But Ive just seen in resource monitor MpCmdRun.exe listed which is part of Defender. Unless MSE also uses it.

I read that it will take Defender out, and that it also does the same thing that Defender use to.
Think it was the MS site.

Defender was mainly spyware checker, MSE adds other things such as virus checker into the mix. When you install MSE it disables Defender. I checked and it is indeed disabled.

Yeah, defender is now bundled up with MSE. When you install MSE it disables the 'standalone' Defender automatically.

MSE takes over the task for Windows Defender, so MSE handles all of the malware. There is no reason for Defender to run when MSE is installed.

On a side note, this could be why MSE is so small, it utilizes the underlying framework already established by Defender.
