Two Antispyware Programs?
Hey all. Anyone running 2 antispyware programs at the same time?
Hey all. Anyone running 2 antispyware programs at the same time?
I have both Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SuperAntiSpyware ... I don't run them at the same time.
Actually I have Malewarebytes and Superantispyware on my work desktop, which I have lifetime licenses for both. I also have a personal desktop. Because my lifetime subscription to MB is for two computers, I have it on my personal one as well, but my Antisuperspyware is only for one PC, so I can't put it on my personal one. I guess I could run the free program on there though. I can't remember what restrictions the free program of SAS has???
SAS - free, doesn't come with 'real time' scanning. But, it scans files and folders when you click on the icon to run it manually.
Rats! I was hoping it would at least run scan on a schedule. I'm not too concerned about the real time protection, as I have the Avast Internet Security, MB, and Spybot running realtime. I do like the finds that the second antispyware scanner found.
I have mine all setup to scan in the wee hours after bedtime!
Any other freebie out there where you can schedule it to scan, or is that feature pretty much come with the paid versions?
Thanks again,
Jack
Now you understand why I ask the question. Some people get confused with the terms ant virus, anti malware, anti spyware; they do different things.
I don't know of anybody still running Spybot.
You can if you care to get the paid for version of SAS run it active. I know of no anti spyware better than SAS to recommend. I use SAS on demand scans while I'm doing other things on the computer with no problems. To the best of my knowledge Avast and MAM Pro active at the same time play well together.
Their are other security checks that should be done and this little free program can help you their. FileHippo Update checker. I use it at least once a day on demand and it takes less than a minute. It will let you know if many programs need updated.

Because of your security concerns I also recommend if you don't need Java remove it. Some need it and many don't. Java is having a real bad time with security problems.

I hope this information helps.
