Advantages of MSE with MBAM Pro?
Hello all,
This is my first post here but I have been reading here for the last few weeks and have learned a lot about Windows 7 and my computer. I am no computer expert but this site has helped me get better at it. My system is a store-bought HP P6-2100 with 4 GB RAM and a 1 TB hard drive.
I have a lifetime paid Malwarebytes subscription. I use Microsoft Security Essentials for my anti-virus program. I know that MSE will work with MBAM in real time scanning and you can set up exclusions in both programs so they do not conflict with each other. My question is, what are the advantages to using MWB Pro with real time scanning if MSE has real time protection as well? Does it help or hurt the computer's performance or scan efficacy?
Right now I am running just the free version of MBAM, the one that is only an on-demand scanner and malware removal tool. I do a quick scan with MBAM and MSE each a few times a week. I run a full scan of MSE and MWB both at least once a week. Does MBAM Pro improve protection and does it slow down the computer? My computer is very fast and efficient with MSE, that is one of the things I like about it. I would like to be able to use the paid MBAM if it will not hinder anything but only if it can help increase my security.
I use a few other programs too: Secunia, Ad Block Plus, Web Mail Ad Block, Web Of Trust and Do Not Track Me. My browser is Firefox 18.0.2 and I use Flagfox to see the country of origin of the server for the web sites I visit. I use CCleaner every so often to keep my registry updated and organized. I have the free version of Super Anti-Spyware but I only use it to scan for unwanted cookies.
Thanks for any input here.
