    zephychan,

Are you having problems with Windows Update also?

    Please do the following:
    Downloading Farbar Service Scanner

    Save to the Desktop.

Make sure the following options are checked:
    • Internet Services
    • Windows Firewall
    • System Restore
    • Security Center
    • Windows Update
    • Windows Defender
    Press: Scan

FSS creates a log, FSS.txt, on the Desktop.

Please provide the FSS.txt in your reply.

Also, let's see what your system shows with the following short scan...

    Please download RogueKiller:
    http://tigzy.geekstogo.com/roguekiller.php

Select the 32-bit version for your system.
Click the dark-blue button to download.
    Save to the Desktop.

    Close all windows and browsers.
Right-click and select: Run as Administrator

At the program console, wait for the prescan to finish. (Under Status, it says: Prescan finished.)
    press: SCAN

When done, a report opens on the Desktop: RKreport.txt

Please provide the RKreport.txt (Mode: Scan) in your reply.

a few weeks ago I was having a problem with windows update though, but I knew it was the failure of my connection for not able to download some of the updates completely (I have rolled back to the restore point before the updates installed and I have not been brave enough to do windows update again since my internet connection isn't that strong).

okay, thanks for the reply. I will later do what you instructed once I got home, I'm still in college. thank you very much!

I don't know how to put it, but... it seems the MSE's working properly again? I've just have finished the Farbar Service Scanner, and the MSE's already updated? what do you think, should I just go on with the Rogue Killer scan? and still post the two results of them here? ._.

here's the FSS.txt log, I'll try to do the RogueKiller scan tomorrow after college... I've just got home and I'm so worn out, it's 11pm here.

    zephychan,

RogueKiller will give us an idea if 'something else' is involved.

BTW, W/Updates Service is not running... however, let's see what we have before we press on.

You post at your convenience. You are going to college, have to study, etc., I am retired.

if you think so, then I'll do the RogueKiller scan tomorrow and I'll post the log.

thanks for carrying on with me. hope you'll get something after you got the RogueKiller result later. :) again, thank you!
