AVG disappeared and will not let me connect to wireless

    Hey,

So I am having some internet problems. I am not able to connect using my Windows 7 PC but it is working fine on my Vista laptop. The only way I can get it to work on my PC is by changing the router security to WEP or OPEN. One other thing I noticed is my AVG has disappeared , it is still installed on my PC and it appears under Uninstall or Change a Program but I am unable to open it up. I tried using the official AVG removal tool but that too does not work as it just crashes my PC.

I created a thread under Network and Sharing and was told the most like issue is the AVG software which I am unable to remove. I installed BullGuard AV and did a scan nothing was found. The original thread can be found here:

Cannot connect on Windows 7, Vista working fine

So any ideas on what I can do to get things working back to normal?

Hi envy lets start with DDS

       Note
Run this tool on the laptop with the issue

    Download

Double click the dds icon to run the tool.
Place a check next to attact.txt and click Start . When done, DDS will open two logs
    DDS.txt
    Attach.txt
Save two logs onto your desktop and upload them with your reply

DDS.scr is a great app except that if your system Windows is corrupted by the whatever (malware, rootkits, viruses, trojan horses, etc) it will go into Startup Repair in safe mode. It happened to mine and I got a headache right now.

There are still traces of AVG . I would also recommend removing Daemon Tools Toolbar .

Use RevoUninstaller to remove both of the applications .

Click on the app you want to remove then click on Uninstall and click on Yes you want to uninstall

    Choose Advanced mode

If the built-in Uninstaller comes up run that . Once that is completed close the built-in Uninstaller

Click Next inside RevoUninstaller it will scan for left over registry keys

Select All and click on the Delete button once that is done click on Next

It will scan for left over files and folders click on Select All and click on Delete then click on Next .

    Hey,

So I downloaded Revo but neither AVG or Daemon Toolbar appear in the list of installed programs.

    Any ideas?

Yep I see it, nothing happens which I try to double click it or click on Uninstall. I have AVG 2012 and the avg_remover_stf_x86_2012_2125.exe and avg_remover_stf_x64_2012_2125.exe.
