If the command does not work, does the machine have access to the hard drive on the bottom?

Sometimes there is like a small door secured with a small screw, and if you use a small screwdriver and remove the screw, you can see the specs of the HDD. It'ss the old fashioned way!!

However, try the following command:
Code:

wmic diskdrive get name,size,model
and...

Code:

wmic csproduct get name,vendor,identifyingNumber

To Copy/Paste info from the Command Prompt with the right-click menu:
Right-click on the background of the CP window and select: Mark
Draw a box around the text you want to copy.
Press the Enter key to copy the selected text to the clipboard.
Paste it to Notepad.

Thanks man for all the support , I really appreciate that you have been patient with me. Anyways do I open command prompt and then locate the D drive or do I just type in the follow code you just give me. Because The laptop is off atm

You should be able to type the command in Safe Mode with Command Prompt by tabbing F8 and choosing Safe Mode with Command Prompt log in if you have a password setup on your account .

This is what I got when I entered them in the command prompt. Seems like they worked now what cottonball?

Well, one of us is going to find a way for you to get this number...

It could be an HP G62-XXX

Is there a label with model code; serial code etc., under the battery?
Remove the battery and see if the information label is on the inside of the battery compartment. See Figure 2

If not, try Figure 1 or 3.

I think VistaKing wants to find the Model number of the Solid State drive (SSD), or HDD.

That one has been rather elusive...

Might have to use the ol' screwdriver...might be easier than anything else.

So much process to do. Do I have to really do that, I really don't want to screw anything from the laptop since it's my buddies, and I really never worked inside the laptop. Can't I just View hard drive information , would that be enough?

That may do it. VistaKing will let you know.

The laptop belongs to a buddy, and it started acting up while you have it, or are you just trying to help him fix it?
