Hi Ana, let's run a security check to see if Norton is showing up in the text log ...

Download Security Check by screen317 from here http://screen317.spywareinfoforum.org/SecurityCheck.exe or here http://screen317.spywareinfoforum.org/
Save it to your Desktop.
Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt.
Please copy and paste the contents of the .txt log.

Jaycee, I hope this is what you meant. Can I now remove it from the place where it saved? It did not give me an option for the desktop, I think it is in documents but I want to make sure I do not mess it up if I delete it. Thank you, Ana

That's a known bug with Windows Health Report. It doesn't even recognize MSE either. I show the same and it's been that way from day one. The last word from MS was it wasn't serious enough to warrant a fix. That was over two years ago.

Just some info...

To get the Diagnostic Report, type the following in the Start menu Search box:
perfmon /report

Or,

Press the Windows key and the R key
In the Run prompt, type in:
perfmon /report

It can also be done from a Command Prompt.

I'm just like Carwiz. My performance report doesn't even see Microsoft Security Essentials and never has.

Ana, You have Windows Firewall running and I'm pretty sure that Norton 360 Premier Edition, has it's own Firewall.
Type (or copy/paste) services.msc in the start seach box. When the 'gear icon' shows up, click on it to open a new window in services. Scroll down to Windows Firewall, right click on the item and choose properties.
Now, click on the "startup type" dropdown box, and disable it... then click to stop the service in the upper left hand corner. Scroll down to Windows Installer and see if it's disabled ... it should be set to manual, and start the service. Norton should be automatically updating.

Also, update Adobe Reader Download Adobe Reader 11.0.02 - Technical Details - FileHippo.com
Uncheck any pre-checked boxes offering stuff you don't need or want

Jacee,

I followed these instructions the best I could and ran the report again. It now shows an additional error

"A service is reported as having an unexpected error code
One or more services have failed. The service did not stop gracefully, suggesting the service may have crashed or one of its componets stopped in an unsupported way.

Service exited with code not equal to 0 or 1077"

I tried to follow your instructions and got up to the Windows Firewall that was not disabled. I do not understand it because in the Control Panel it shows as disabled. There was nothing on the upper left hand corner, but there was something in the middle of the window that gave me the option to Stop. I clicked on it.

Then I went to Windows Installer, it was set to automatic and Service Status was Stopped.

You are saying that it should be Manual and Start??? I am changing it to Start and running the report again.

I am sorry to sound ignorant but why Manual? Does this have to do with installing Windows changes etc.?

Thank you, Ana

EDITED:

I looked around and found out that the error was related to the Home Group Listener. I have only one Windows 7 Computer; therefore I followed the instructions and got out of the group. I re-ran the report and I no longer have the error. All I have now is the issue with not recognizing the anti-virus, which I do not think it is a major problem since I know I have it and it Works properly.

I still would like to confirm the comment above about the Windowsinstaller on the Services section concerning the manual vs automatic

THANK YOU, AG
