Thanks so much again VK and everyone else trying to help. My comp did run OK for a couple of days before I stopped using it for a couple of weeks. The downloading of .exe files was back on and the System Restore seemed to have started creating new restore points as normal. However, after having som eissues trying to open Microsoft Word I went to try and restore my system to an earlier date and it is not doing it again . I tried running the Adware cleaner you put me onto, thinking I might have picked up some bugs again, but the Adware cleaner Icon just disappeared from its folder and I can't see it anymore. It's not even coming up for me when I try to download it from that link you gave me on the first page of this thread. Just goes to some page full of ads with a little AdWare icon which doesn't do anything when clicked on..Could you suggest anything for me to try and get this machine back on again..
Thank you very much again..

Hi VK...NO I seem top be able to download .exe now. But I thought I might have picked up a bug as I couldn't open my Word, and then when trying to restore to an earlier point just after I did all the clean up you guided me through, I couldn't restore to any of the points. I had same issues before taking your steps and cleaning up..Restoration issues seems to have come back, so I thought I might try and run the cleaning processes again..

Yep, tried that..no Joy..Tried restoring in Safe Mode, but no good again...Oh well, will have to keep looking for a solution. Found the way how to reinstall OS without the disk..Might have to try that, although I hate backing up and reinstalling all my Apps and files..
