Can not download or install .exe files with IE or GC.

    Hi guys,
New here..Thanks for providing such a good place to get some help. I searched for a solution to my problem, but couldn't find it on the forum here, so I thought I would post a new thread and try to get some help.
A few days ago I started having issues with trying to download/install a program (Google Earth), as my previously installed version was playing up. I noticed that the download wouldn't complete, trying both ways, running a setup off the website nor saving .exe to my system.
It would ask me if I wanted to run or save, I would click one of those, then it would ask run or cancel and after clicking run again, the download box just dissapears and nothing happens.
I tried restoring my system to an earlier time, but noticed that it only has restore points running back a few days. When I click "show more restore points", nothing happens.
I scanned my system fully with a NAV which found 5 viruses, all of which were taken care of.
I tried playing with Internet Security settings, making sure all downloads were enabled, but I still get the same problem. CAn't download/install any applications.
In IE the download box just goes away without any msgs, but in Google Chrome I get a msg in the download box in the bottom left, which says "Virus scan failed".
Tried downloading without AV on, but doesn't help.
My laptop came with preinstalled OS, and I don't even have a disk to do a reinstall.
Can anyone suggest anything to try and solve this issue.
If you want me to provide any more details, please let me know.
    Cheers

    Hi VK..
Thanks for your help. So, what am i trying to do with those processes?
Is it only to fix the Browser issues with the downloading, or is this gonna fix the restoration points issues as well?

    Thanks again

P.S. It actually seems to have fixed the download issue. Downloaded successfully one programme.
    Thanks very much VK.

The download problem seems to be solved. What can I expect from running the Adware cleaner again.
How did those logs look? Any further issues you can see?

    Cheers

AdwCleaner found "unwanted" adware on your computer. You need to run it again and this time, click on the "Delete button.

When finished, please post the 2nd .text results

Reason why I asked you to rerun AdwCleaner is to delete the items that it found in Search mode . The reason why I asked you to run Security Check is to see if you need any updated software like java , flash or adobe .
