Why am I seeing shortcuts to files in recycle bin that I didnt do?

I have been finding shortcuts to various files in my recycle bin even though I didn't create or delete said shortcuts?

I recently upgraded to an SSD so this is a new install, but I did notice the same occurrences on old install.

Should I be concerned?

Thank you in advance for any help or solutions.

Thaddeus89,

Please download WinRAR:
WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files
Select the 32-bit or 64-bit version that applies to your system.
Save to the Desktop.
(This download is a trial version of the WinRAR archiver for use during a test period of 40 days.)

Double-click the downloaded program to install...
At the WinRAR Setup, click: OK
On the last prompt, feel free to check any of the tabs, and, when finished, press: Done
Close out of WinRAR setup.

Go to Start > All Programs, and look for the WinRAR folder
Open the folder, and double-click the WinRAR icon.

When the WinRAR console opens, navigate to the Recycle Bin by using the down arrow on the far right of the path area.
All the files should show in WinRAR.

Can you use the Snipping tool to post an image of what is showing:

It may also be worthwhile that you do it (explore with WinRAR) on all your external drives, HDDs as well as pen drives and put out the screenshots.

Close all windows and browsers.
Right-click and select: Run as Administrator

At the program console, wait for the prescan to finish. (Under Status, it says: Prescan finished.)
Press: SCAN

When done, a report opens on the Desktop: RKreport.txt

Please provide the RKreport.txt (Mode: Scan) in your reply.

Size of files in Recycle Bin
Is there an easy way of finding what the total size is of files held in the Recycle Bin? I tried selecting all the files and right clicking on one of the files and select "properties" but nothing happens :( In XP and Vista (I think) this shows in the Recycle Bin status line, but for some reason...

Exclude $RECYCLE.BIN from Offline Files?
I've got a shared drive on my PC, and I'm trying to sync it using Offline Files. The process keeps failing because of the Recycle Bin file, $RECYCLE.BIN. Normal folders on other drives sync fine. Does anyone know how to exclude $RECYCLE.BIN from Offline Files?

How do I get files back from the Recycle bin? When it's been emptied
I was trying to look for ways to free up some memory on my laptop, and out of pure interest, I copied all of my pictures to my desktop. It came up with 'Copying 67MB' (It wasn't actually 67MB that's just an example) Anyway, so now I know how much space it was taking up, so I delete the copies and...

Why don't all files go to the recycle bin?
I think that it is that Windows prompts me to move items from the recycle bin, whilst it deletes them permanently from a mapped drive. So if I delete a file on a mapped drive, why doesn't it move the items to the server's recycle bin? I accidentally deleted files on another server which has a...
