Just a suggestion Cottonball but how a bout a look in the HKEY USER and LOCAL > software to check to see if there is anything left in the entries??
I had problems with this one a while ago and found the wretched ting really difficult to get rid of and did it through that avenue. Not suggesting that webgal should do anything but have a look.
Looks like things are OK.
If any of you want to refer me to some sources when I could learn about the registry, that would be great.
Thanks
webgal
webgal318,
One more check to make sure those Registry entries mentioned by ICit2lol are not present.
This program is good for picking those up...
Please Download RogueKiller (Official website)
Select the version that applies to the system.
Save to the Desktop.
Close all windows and browsers.
Right-click and select: Run as Administrator
At the program console, wait for the pre-scan to finish. (Under Status, it says: Pre-scan finished.)
Press: SCAN
When done, a report opens on the Desktop: RKreport.txt
Please provide the RKreport.txt (Mode: Scan) in your reply
Babylon is a company that provides translation and linguistic services, and as part of this we offer integrated search programs that help people understand and communicate with people around the world. Our search tools are meant to compliment our other programs, so if they are not what you are looking for we are more than happy to help you uninstall them. You can simply click here for detailed instructions: Babylon 10 Translation Software and Dictionary Tool - Uninstall Babylon Search or contact me at any time for more information at support@babylon.com
And a dishonest company that misrepresents itself. If the thing was legit and really useful there'd not be a need for hijacking searches and rootkit-like activity.
PC MagThe Babylon Search toolbar is frequently categorized as a browser hijacker because it takes control of the Web browser and does things the user may not have specifically requested. For example, even if you set your "home" page, Babylon will display its own site. Or when you try to get to Google or Bing to perform a search, the browser will redirect to Babylon Search (search.babylon.com). A toolbar will also appear at the top of your browser window.
