Whoever weighed in with Bit Defender, I'd really like to hear a review because this is one of the AV programs that was in the top 3 of every category review and testing I could find.

MSE on my laptop and computer, combined with MBAM and a load of browser addons and personal configurations to top it off.
    And Avast! on my phone.
Weird that McAfee and Norton are in your top 10.. IMO they both cause more then they fix.

Other for me: EXE Radar Pro as my only real time protection, with MBAM and HMP as my on-demand scanners.

I'm not a huge fan of MSE. I know it's free and a part of Windows, and it offers real time protection for no cost, but it's about the worst program as far as false positives go and tends to let the most stuff slip through. Though it is Microsoft- after they designed the Xbox 360 to fall apart on its own and used cheap materials even though every other game console doesn't have those issues, I stopped expecting top quality from them. The Xbox One fiasco has me not too trusting of them. I'm only stuck using Windows due to gaming.

If you pay for a program I'm sure you'll get a top quality AV that catches most stuff with real time protection. If you're going for free, you're not swimming in choices and will have to live with MSE for RTP. Malwarebytes and Superantispyware are both good at finding stuff, as is Hitman Pro- but this one only lets you use it for 30 days before having to pay. Otherwise I've mostly dodged malware thanks to using Adblock Plus, NoScript and Spybot's immunizations. If you're using a non-Firefox browser you're out of luck on NoScript though-Opera has a similar clone but it's not near as good and has an interface that makes me hate it.
