Windows 7: Microsoft Security Essentials randomly turning itself off

The computer crashed again while doing the scan. 0xf4 code. It says it is collecting data for the crash dump.

Open up a new thread in the BSOD section. The F4 bsod I believe are hard drive related . Did it create any dump files this time?

My .02/broken record/PSA on the subject:

MSE is not a good enough anti-virus solution on it's own, I don't recommend it to anyone for that purpose.

avtest.org will enlighten you on the major products available, MSE is rated dead last overall.

Running windows 7 Pro. Have had microsoft security essentials installed for about a yer. Starting today when the computer starts the green icon is there with a check mark. If I put my mouse on the icon it disappears. Uninstalled and reinstalled security essentials. Same thing. Anyone else...

I notice a high lighted line , what does this really mean? is my computer not protected with installed MSE. MSE is set in real time and runs daily for checking hard drives.
