Password expiration on an encrypted account

My password is managed by my employer organization. Win 7 is now saying my password has expired, but it does not give me the option to enter a new password. It instead says:

"The password for this account has expired. To change the password, click OK, click Switch User, and then log on."

I assume that this obviously means that I need to log on as administrator and change the password. But here's the problem - a couple of months ago I forgot my password and the admin account was used to reset it. However, my account is also encrypted, and once the password was reset by the admin this broke the encryption and I could not access my files. I had to reload an old backup to get everything back.

So now my password is expired, but the only option I have to change it is to change it as admin which will break the encryption again.

What am I supposed to do?

Never mind - I have a finger print reader and I was going back and forth between that and my account thinking I was switching user, but instead it is just switching the login method. There is another level up from this that has the admin account, and once I went up to this but then back down to my own account it gave me the reset option.
