What is the best HDD secure cleaner/wiper?

Gentlemen, what to use to securely wipe / clean a HDD so that even 'modern forensics' will never read it (apart from using a hammer).

    Deriks boot'n Nuke!!!!!!!!!
Link >> >> Darik's Boot And Nuke | Hard Drive Disk Wipe and Data Clearing
(Warning -- I have not yet tried this software, and it may not completely remove everything,
Also, I think MiniTool Partition Wizard home edition may have the drive wipeing functionality)

(Then install windows and download a whole bunch of extra crap to fill the harddrive, then wipe it AGAIN! (about 4 times over to make sure))
I think this is a surefire way to kill whatever your looking to delete :) May take some time tho...
I see no real reason for this functionality tho unless your giving away a computer, then look up a guide of things to do before giving it away, or just remove the HD and tell them they need to buy one and install windows:)

Not knowing the total capabilities of modern forensics I would think if the programs that have been posted don't satisfy your needs melting the hard drive in a fire would be the proper method.

nah, i think filling it till you cant no more, then wiping it, repeat this about a dozen times and i don't think anyone should be able to get their hands on that file, either that or it'll be EXTREMELY Corrupted and you won't be able to figure out if it's a .exe or a .txt IMHO :)

As mentioned by Victor, you really don't require anything more than a single pass.....its doubtful that anyone with access to "modern forensics" would be remotely interested in what is on your hard drive.

Use the DISKPART CLEAN ALL command to wipe the drive....more than adequate for your needs:
Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command
