Windows 7: Windows 7 Firewall multiple entries for Skype

Windows 7 Firewall multiple entries for Skype

I use Windows 7 and its own firewall. Under "Allowed Programs" as well as "Advanced Settings" > Inbound Rules, I see multiple identical entries for Skype. Their number keeps growing, and so occasionally I have to delete the redundant entries myself, which is very tiresome and annoying.

I've been already told by Skye Support that Skype updates or re-installation can cause multiple Firewall entries. In my case, however, Skype updates are disabled and I've never re-installed the program.

I don't have this issue with other programs on my machine. Only with Skype. Though some people say they do.

I previously used a third party firewall (Kaspersky), and didn't have this "multiple identical entries for the same program" issue. I know someone who uses Windows 8, and its firewall, and he tells me he doesn't have this problem.. I really want to use Window's built in firewall because it's lightweight, and serves the same purpose as a third party firewall, but if I can't fix this Skype issue, I will have to ditch it.

I searched for a solution online, but found none..
