Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
    • After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R0].txt) will open in Notepad for review.
    • The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
    • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
    • A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.

Using AdwCleaner v3: Scan & Clean:
Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool again.
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • AdwCleaner will begin to scan your computer like it did before.
    • After the scan has finished...
    • This time, click on the Clean button.
    • Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
    • Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
    • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S0].txt) will open automatically.
    • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
    • A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.

Try this one. Remove Sweetpacks Toolbar (Removal Guide)
I've not heard of this before but sounds annoying. Does Sweetpacks show in the Installed program in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features? If so you can run the uninstaller from there.

    EDIT: Please follow Jacee's plan.

    foxxynana,

Actually, AdwCleaner is also addressed in the removal guide suggested by Britton30:
    Remove Sweetpacks Toolbar (Removal Guide)

What it does not include, is requesting the reports produced by AdwCleaner. They help us analyze whatever was identified and removed, instead of taking blind approach.

So, suggest you follow Jacee's instructions when running the AdwCleaner program.

The rest of the information in the removal guide will let you look in Control Panel, check your browser(s), and run Malwarebytes for any malware load that may have come along with SweetPacks.

There are other tools that may be suggested to you if you think SweetPacks is not totally gone, but for now, the steps provided by the guide and Jacee's instructions will more than likely get the job done.

Good to hear. When you install anything be sure to look for add-on "enhancements" that may be bundled and uncheck them. It's a good idea to scroll down through any end user license agreement (EULA) sometimes the opt-out option is in them.

Good to know that sweetpacks is gone!

    Next, do this: Removing/Uninstalling AdwCleaner:

Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool again.
    • Click on the Uninstall button.
    • Click Yes when asked are you sure you want to uninstall.
    • Both AdwCleaner.exe, its folder and all logs will be removed.

Now, download TFC by Old Timer TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer - Geeks to Go Forums and save it to your desktop.
Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. If you are using Vista/Windows 7 right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator.
Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

    *** Keep this Temporary Cleaner

Another way to get rid of Sweetpack is to do a Windows system restore to some previous point before the malware was loaded. For most malware problems over the past 3-5 years I've found this to be the simplest and most effective. I did this today.

The links to those cleaners mentioned above are no longer any good. I tried them before falling back on system restore to remove the malware.

the only problem Brian is many malwares are "smart" and can survive a system restore. Some can even disable the Restore function.
