That's alright Snarky. No harm in warning of potential problem when there are actually none. It's the other way around that is no good: when advice saying something is good when it's not.

Glad you have things working as you want.

Me Too!

I do have this problem. Norton took control of both computers and couldn't figure it out. (The Tech, or the Supervisor).. then R&D was suppost to call back but never did.

Sorry 'bout the misleading information folks.

How did you fix the issue?

Well I have Norton 360 v4 (Antivirus, Antispyware, Firewall, PC tune-up and backup all-in-one) on another laptop with Windows 7 and home groups works perfectly on it.

I was having this same problem with Windows7 and an upgrade of Norton Internet Security 2009 to NIS2010.

I was able to fix the problem after a few hours of messing with settings. Pretty sure the one that fixed my issue was after a fresh reboot.

Go to the main page, Click "Setings" next to "Internet" Scroll to the bottom Under the "Smart Firewall" heading, click "Configure" next to "Trust Control"

In the Network details dropdown, select you lan. You should be able to click on the OTHER computer you are trying to network to. Once those settings come up change the trust to "Full Trust" Close out of all those windows and do it all again on the other computers. Reboot and then re-try to connect to your homegroup.

Worked for me.....

Norton Internet Security
Hi, I was just wanting to see if anyone has had any problems with Norton and Windows 7. I recently installed build 7100 on my mother's machine and she insisted that Norton was installed. I eventually relented and installed it, but it only seems to cause problems... Anyone else??
