"RPC Virus virus" message in action center?

I've had no problem with my computer in the past two days, yet I see an action center message today, supposedly from yesterday, warning me that "This problem was caused by the RPC virus, a known computer virus" and no further information.

Since I've gotten no notification from my usual antivirus/antimalware sources, this seems like a scam or a false positive of some sort. Is this something normal or should I be concerned?

Which "Action Center" is providing the alert?

That doesn't really sound like a Microsoft Alert because of the redundancy of the actual alert.

Have you ran your Virus/Malware software and see what comes up?

It's my real Windows Action Center alert, and I ran Malware Bytes, which found some random spyware file in my temp folder, but nothing else.

Not saying you're wrong at all but I just don't see that as a genuine Microsoft warning. I would definitely run some deep scans with your Anti virus and malware software.

This is so ridiculous, I have to update it here...

Turns out the Microsoft Action center had reported me having the RPC Virus, because it found an "RPC.exe" file in my computer... which was a normal program with an executable named "RPC.exe"

I wasn't advertising, just reporting what had happened, and what Windows targeted. The case is solved. It was meteors.
