Help getting rid of Windows 7 Media Center Virus

Help! All exe files have a Windows Media file extension. All files opens to Window Media Center Home page & locks. Can't access the internet to download any anti-virus programs. Also unable to access internet in safe mode . Desperate! What can I do

The virus has totally locked my computer. I'm unable to access internet even in safe mode. Therefore I can't access the link you provided. I desperately need help!!

This is the only thing that worked for me...

On a working computer download this file to a flash drive. http://www.sevenforums.com/attachmen...efault_exe.reg
Put flash drive in the broken computer, start -> computer -> flash drive. Right click the file (Default_EXE.reg) and click 'Merge'
After this it should work normally. You should also run an antivirus/malware scan as .exe association errors are commonly caused by malware.
EDIT - you may have to restart for the fix to take effect.

Done!!
