I'm a little concerned about Microsoft Security Essentials getting more and more adverse comments, so I have been looking at alternatives. On ebay amongst many others is Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2013 one year/three pc's cloud edition which is selling for £3.99 (261228847829). What is a cloud edition? Is it safe or am I risking this huge sum of money?
I'd be suspicious buying from Ebay, especially at that price that price!

I use Avira Internet security for 3 computers and it's over $50 (US) a year, but in my line of 'research' I need the extra security
I wouldn't buy any software from eBay. It can be loaded with all sorts of badware.
A cloud application runs from the internet and is not installed locally. MS seems to think that's what all users need, I disagree though. A cloud app will generally have to be renewed every year, which is the reason behind the push. We used to buy a copy of, say, MS Office and could uses it forever at no extra cost.
I've read to many horror stories about people buying software from sites such as E Bay. Not only is the software not the real thing in some cases, but it comes with "extras' you don't want, like viruses.
