I might not have understood the last.
Should I bring it up in safe mode, then download AVG, Malware bytes and SAS?

I'll try again tomorrow but for tonite it's loaded up quickly.
I had to get rid of iTunes though. It was losing my music as I played it.

So, now on Pwr Up, it goes right to Fire Fox, which has an easy access to my most used windows.
If this is still go tomorrow I'll close this call.

Yes please download the scanners using Safe mode with Networking,
As you said something interfered with the running of the first one you tried,
I was the only person that suggested using Safe mode,
Run the scanners in safe mode with networking first,
Then shut down your machine and start normally,
Then run the scanner again,
Post any scan results,
Cheers.

Skip the AVG scanner,
Move directly to the Junkware removal tool/ Malwarebytes/ Superantispyware,
Run the Full scans In safe mode with networking, (One at a time)
Try Not to use the computer while the scans are scanning,
Save the reports generated,
Re-run the scanners restarting normally, (One at a time)
Post those scan reports,
Cheers.

But I have at least two I can't get rid of.

One of them is a "PC CLeaner"

Another is some problem in ITunes saying its not for my new W-7....but it always was good till this other thing came along.

The PC is doing something else when I want to search. Or type.
It's lots worse with FireFox. It keeps telling me to get the latest FF Download.

I'd bet I'm not the only guy on thses boards that would go to prison for what I'd do to one of those Virus writers if I ever had some time with him.

I hope somebody can help.
Hi cellmate. I would be inclined to kneecap someone like that.

I couldn't get the programs (SAS/MalWarebytes) to work in safe mode.
Still ignorant.

Hi,
What happened exactly ?
Were there any error messages ?
What happens if you right click one of them and click on Run as administrator ?

What happens....It's in DOS and don't recognize my inputs. I couldn't write the SAS program name like it wanted to see.

I did discover some more info though.
I reloaded Firefox and started getting popups right away. I couldn't see them but I could hear a voice talking to me in selling mode.
So I deleted the Site I was on, and the popups for "PC Cleaner" got worse.
I deleted Fire Fox and went back to IE and it's OK.
IE is so clumsy compared to FF though.

Infected?
I'm wondering if I got a virus. I got the death blue screen once, but only once. Things boot fine now. Anyway, later, when I try to run various applications, I get errors for some of them, like this: "The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000005). Click OK to close the application."...

Have you ever been infected?
Yes. During the years of IE6 we used Norton. It was regularly finding viruses/malware until we switched to Firefox. We switched to AVG. It found at least one threat my dad had downloaded. We tried ESET and I downloaded a program that 1000s had downloaded and a few said it was clean. It seemed to...
