I downloaded the filewhiz file and when I try to open the dmp file, the filewhiz doesn't show up as an option to open the file. It won't let me open filewhiz. It keeps saying an instance of it is already running.

Now file whiz says it cannot open the dmp file.

I'm not sure where you got filewhiz from, nobody mentioned that.

The dmp files need to be opened by Windbug.

The last few posts are about zipping the file up.

Filewhiz is what showed up after I clicked the link on the page to download the zip thing at that website link to download something to unzip the file. Windbug never showed up.

Which link are you referring to? None of them contains Filewhiz.

You do NOT need to unzip anything.....just upload the zip file here. We will do the rest.

It shouldn't have, it goes right to 7zip for me.

Forget about that for now, I think you have other pressing matters.

Can't you right click on the files and send to zipped folder?

I think filewhiz might be a virus or something. Malewarebytes now is detecting something. Still scanning.

I am reading the how to for zipping a file now.

I think you need to stop what you are doing, and scan your system thoroughly.....it looks like your system is still in the grips of malware.

Do a complete scan using this tool - opt to delete all infections it finds:

Malwarebytes probably picked up the installIQ from filewhiz.

You don't need filewhiz, and it shouldn't have redirected you there so get rid of it.

My laptop will now only start up in safe mode. When I try to start it normal it never boots up all the way and just stays at a dark blue screen.

Malewarebytes got rid of the filewhiz.

I finally got that one file to do a zip file though.
