Windows 7 - Avira and Windows 7, now in trouble |

Avira and Windows 7, now in trouble I have used Avira free for some time, but after the last install of Windows 7, I'm in troubble.
Avira installs fine, but it can't update Virusdatabase. It seems like it don't connect at all, transfering 0 bytes, and after about 15-20 minutes break off with an error (and no update). The error just saying something like "can't be updated at the moment. Please try later".
Well, that has lasted over 2 days now, and earlier today I updated Avira on my laptop (XP) with no problems.
I have redownloaded Avira, installed it, uninstalled it, installed it again (from a third download!), but still it can't update.
Avast, AVG and trial Kaspersky updating without problems.
Any ideas?

Any ideas? May I first ask why (and I mean this in the best possible manner...) do you have 4 different Anti-Virus? Anti-Virus apps normally conflict with each other in some way (whether they tell you or not). It is very reccomended to only use one Anti-Virus app at a time | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Compal JFT02 (Custom Build Laptop) OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 - Mac OS X 10.6.4 x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5 GHz Motherboard JFT02 Memory 4GB Kingston DDR2-800 Graphics Card NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT (512MB Model) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays WUXGA Standard Laptop Display Screen Resolution 1680*1050 Keyboard Standard Laptop 105 Key-Keyboard Mouse Synaptics Touchpad PSU Standard Laptop Power Supply Case Standard Laptop Case Cooling Standard Laptop Cooling Hard Drives Toshiba 320GB 5400RPM Laptop HD Internet Speed Verizion Online DSL 3360/864 kbs (dl/up) |

Any ideas? Its a sign, dump all but one Anti-Virus. As Zidane mentioned, it is not recommended to have more then one installed on the same machine. :S | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom | Whitebox OS Windows 7 Ultimate, OS X 10.7, Ubuntu 11.04 CPU Intel E6750 @ 3.80GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L (Revision 1.1) Memory 2x2GB & 2x1GB (6GB) OCZ Reaper 1066MHz @ 1080MHz Graphics Card EVGA nVidia GTX 260 896mb (216 Core) FTW Edition Sound Card Realtek ALC888 Monitor(s) Displays 21" VIZIO TV Screen Resolution 1680x1050 @ 60Hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless S520 Mouse Logitech Wireless S520 - Microsoft Wireless Arc Mouse PSU Corsair 750W Case NZXT Nemesis Elite Cooling Thermaltake SpinQ Hard Drives Western Digital WD6401AALS - 640GB

For me, Avira does not work at all on RTM x86, 7600 build. It installs, but then reports that antivirus driver is not compatible (or something like that) and it wont start the AV service. My English is not good enough. I have of course only 1 virus-killer installed at the time. As written in #0, this is a new install of Windows 7 x64, and after Avira did not work, I tried some other virus-killers (one by one!), and after them, I tried Avira again, but Avira won't update. From time to time during severel tries, it downloads 1-10 Kbyte, but then stops again. I'm using Windows 7 other security, Firewall, Windows Defender aso. I really like Avira, as it is fast, and does not take up much space. Maybe I should try Microsofts own new Virus-killer?
#6 Yes, that is working, but do I really have to do this by myself from now on? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number homebrewed OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 retail CPU E6850 Motherboard Gigabyte DS 4 P35 Memory 6 Gb (2x2 and 2x1 corsair memory 5-5-5-18) Graphics Card ASUS GTX 260 Sound Card X-Fi Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Keyboard G15 logitech Mouse Logitech Laser MX1000 PSU Zahlmann 850HP Hard Drives Samsung F1 1 Tb Internet Speed 10/1 |

I don't know if you'll have to do this from now on
I see you have an RC version of Windows 7 ... what is the 'build' number? You have it listed as RC 1 | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Bruce ... somewhere in his 40's OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2400 MHz Motherboard INTEL/D975XBX2 Memory 4 GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 914v Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Standard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Microsoft PS/2 Mouse PSU Rocketfish 700 W Case G.Skill Gigabyte Chassis Hard Drives 2/500GB each ...
