OK. All of that done. Same error message when restarted. Also, during running of FRST64, got a Windows message:

AUT2Exe. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

    Fixlog from that effort attached.

New Rkill report attached as Rkill2.

That error appears related to FRST. Need to check with the developer, and see what he says.

FRST processed the script and removed one Junction Point, but not the other.

Will get back with you later. The developer of FRST is in the Netherlands.

    Bill48,

Contacted the developer of FRST, and he says it looks as if there is an issue with FRST when trying to restore permissions on files that are patched by ZeroAccess. He needs to look into it.

It is not your system, so have no worries. Will get back to you as soon as I get some feedback.
As mentioned before, we are all in very different time zones, so, do not know if I will have an answer for you today.

I should add this FRST information. FRST64 was still on the desktop from the earlier download and run. On rerunning it by your more recent instructions, it seemed to hang on installing an update. Task Manager showed it as not running. I deleted it and downloaded afresh. It was with the new download that the above episode occurred. I thought the developer may wish to have the full story.

Thank you again. Personally just rising, this message sent at 7.10 am eastern summer time here on the east coast of Australia. Bill

    Bill,

This is Daylight Savings time, evening (7:00PM), in Central Illinois USA, where the temperature is 14 degrees (F), and we are freezing to death!!

Thanks for the info on FRST. The developer modified the program today, and wants you to download a new version of the program.

Download > Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Once again, please open notepad (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad)
Copy the entire contents of the code box below to Notepad. (Do not copy the word 'code')
Save it to the Desktop, where FRST is located, and name it: fixlist.txt

    Code:
    start
    DeleteJunctionsInDirectory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client
    end
NOTICE: This script is written specifically for this computer!!!
Running this on another computer may cause damage to the Operating System.

Now, please run FRST, and press the Fix button, just once, and wait.
When done, the tool creates a report on the Desktop called: Fixlog.txt

Please post the Fixlog.txt in your reply.

    Looks like a permissions issue...

    Hang in there!

The problem is a bear to resolve. Have seen many times where the User uninstalls MSE and opts to install another AV program. There are a few free ones available besides MSE.

Also, MSE is no longer considered a top notch AV program, however, I must qualify that, and admit that I still use it along with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
I have Avast in my other PC - no idea if it is doing a good job. I replaced AVG, sick of their constant invitations to upgrade. I'd be happy to pay a one-time fee but find annual renewal fees hard to take. Also alternate Malwarebytes and Spybot about weekly. Be interested if any of these additional tools that you have had me using would be worth keeping and running occasionally.

    Bill48,

FRST developer is working on the issue for your case.

He mentioned that "as long as MSE is not fully repaired the error will appear at startup."
So, we need to get rid of the entries that were reported earlier by RKill.

Would appreciate your waiting a little longer before engaging in anything else.
    Thanks!

On the tools we have used, they have their specific purpose, change often, and their results need interpreted.

Your best bet is to run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware regularly, and, of course, have an AntiVirus program running.
