007guard How to remove?

I find in the Task Manager/Resource Manager/Network that www.007guard.com is listed as sucking up a lot of resouorces and I notice that IE8 is really --no, REALLY--slow.

However, Windows Defender, AVG, MalwareBytes, SUPERantivirus, SpyBot, Ad-Aware ---all are useless at getting rid of it.

How do I remove it?

I decided to do a re-install of Windows 7 and it is gone now.

I'll just have to be more selective in clicking webiste links.

Thanks.

007guard is back!! -ahhh!

Help.

How do I get rid of this piece of crap? Every google result merely leads to another anti-malware offer for products that don't get rid of this problem.

Any thoughts appreicated.

Hello jrcallen, and welcome to the Seven Forums

I would suggest you run full scans with Spybot Search & Destroy and Malwarebytes

The home of Spybot-S&D!

Malwarebytes.org

you could also try the rouge remover tool at malwarebytes

All these programs are free for personal use

It sounds like your browser has been 'hijacked'. What search engine are you using? Are you being redirected?

Thanks.

I believe tht SpyBot has taken care of re-directing the malware back to my computer, but I still want to get rid of it. I will re-install Windows 7 without carrying over my system settings, and see if a clean install eliminates the problem.

Sounds like a good idea! ... let us know if that did the trick or not.

Re-installing has resulted in no 007guard listing in the Resource Monitor of Task Manager. But I believe the reason for that is that I did not re-install SpyBot. I'm going to try life wothout it.

Thanks.
