Can free BitDefender and MSE live together happily?

That's the question. MSE works pretty well but it seems BitDefender gets high marks (everyone is assuming the free version is using much of the same engine found in the pay version - I hope that's true). I'd like to give it a try if they can work together without stepping on each other.

I do not recommend having two anti virus programs on one computer at one time.
It doesn't matter which two brands. Just install one at a time.
I use MSE and many have good luck with Avast but still just one at a time.

That's no good and counterproductive. Recommend you use a scanner like Malwarebytes in addition to 1 AV program.

I've been using MSE and MABM for years, but the prepetual low scoring by MSE had me wondering if I could add another solution. Sounds like that's not the way to go. I'll keep using MABM (although it doesn't seem to be doing to well in its latest version), but maybe I should just replace MSE with something like BitDefender.

For having the paid version, i can tell you Bitdefender won't let two AV on the system and force to uninstall previous AV. Only after it install. Might be different from the free version though!
