two problems: YAC infestation and WSPlayer takeover!!
I really hope someone can help me, as I'm in hot water up to my neck!
My computer has just had a YAC infection; I did a quick scan with Malwarebytes which picked up 5 threats. I removed these, but there are still elements on my desktop (like a memory and speed gauge) which I cannot get rid of. YAC no longer appears in my list of installed programs (Control Panel) so I don't know what to do.
The other problem regards my videos. I have a large number of .avi files stored on my laptop which I've always played with Media Player Classic. Now these will not open; I see that the files have been renamed WSPlayer.avi even though I have no WSPlayer on my PC. I went to Default Programs (or whatever it's called in English -- I have an Italian version of Windows 7) to change the program to use when playing .avi files, only to find that .avi files are no longer included in the list. Neither are mp4 or mkv files, all of which I normally play with Media Player Classic.
I'm tearing my hair out here, so I'd really appreciate some help if you know what to do!
