UI taken over by Trovi.com. How can I get rid of it?

Help! My user interface has been hijacked by something called trovi.com. It changed my primary search engine to Bing and blocked most of the things that I had set up in Google Chrome. I don't know how it got downloaded but I sure would like to get rid of it.
    Can somebody help?
    Thanks,
    Mark Mickelsen

    Follow this https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3296214?hl=en

If this fails re-install google chrome.

    mickelsen,

    Please follow this guide:
Remove Trovi.com redirect (Virus Removal Guide)

When done, please post the reports for the programs run, and we'll take a look at them to see if trovi.com is gone.

Also, please use the tool Zoek:
    Download > Download zoek.exe version 5.0.0.0

When the Zoek.exe download appears, save to the Desktop.
On the Desktop, right-click Zoek.exe and select: Run as Administrator
Give it a few seconds to appear.

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware programs, so they don't interfere with the running of Zoek.exe.
You can find instructions how to disable your security applications here:
How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs - Security Mini-Guides

On the Zoek interface, click the Options button and place a checkmark only on the following options:

    Do a Deep Scan
    Installed Programs

    Now...
    • Close any open Browsers.
    • Click the Run script button, and wait. It takes a few minutes to run all the script.
    • When the tool finishes, the zoek-results.log is opened in Notepad.
    • The log is also found on the systemdrive, normally C:\
    • If a reboot is needed log is opened after the reboot.
Please post the zoek-results.log in your reply.

Removing the suspicious programs, browser extensions and change the search provider may help get rid of Trovi.com. You can set the Chrome search provider with the following steps:
    1. Click the “≡” icon on the Chrome browser toolbar

    2. Select Settings

    3. Click Manage Search engines under Settings.

    4. Point to Trovi.com and click the X mark to remove it then click Done button.

If the method doesn't work, you can try Malwarebytes anti-malware or other malware removal tools to fix the problem.
