    UAC and trusted programs

Anyone know of a way to tell UAC that Everything (the search engine) is OK, I trust it, stop prompting me?

    Hello BJB,

There's not a safe list available for UAC since that would defeat the security it provides. However, you could use either tutorial below to create an elevated shortcut to run the program that will not give you a UAC prompt when used.

Elevated Program Shortcut without UAC Prompt - Create

Elevated Program Shortcut - Create for Standard User

    Hope this helps. :)

A safe program list would open up a huge security hole. A malicious program could enter itself into the list and gain unauthorized admin access. This would largely nullify the security provided by UAC.
