Good we are all clean there. :) Great job! The below looks like a lot, but it should not take more than 1 hour total. Depending on how many files are on your pc. If you have a ton of data the scan may take a bit.

Now lets do a few more checks to make sure you are clean.

1.) Download herdprotect: (choose the portable version)

Download herdProtect - Free Anti-Malware Platform

    2.) Run the scan.

3.) When the scan finishes, save the results per the screenshot below. Then upload the log here.

DO NOT REMOVE ANYTHING YET. I will advise if anything needs removed when I receive the log. You may then close out when the log is uploaded.

Let see what else is going on here:

1.) Download malwarebytes anti malware found here:

    https://www.malwarebytes.org/

    Choose the Free version download.

2.) After it downloads, run the installation and install it.

    3.) After install, open malwarebytes.

    Choose to update now.

When your updated, you should see something like this in the screenshot:

4.) Then choose to run a scan after updates complete.

    5.)
After the scan completes, Remove anything found. Restart the computer.

6.) Open malwarebytes. Click the history button.

    Then Click on application logs.

Choose the latest scan log, and click the view button.

Click on the export button, then choose text file. Save it somewhere.

7.) Post your results by using the paperclip and upload the log.

    HOG? Do you mean herdprotect?

If you already have malwarebytes installed, that is fine. Just make sure it is updated and then run a scan. Let me know if it finds anything.

ya, once the hour or so is up run herdprotect again and I will look at the log.

andrew129260 here's the 2nd log file for herdprotect...lol I don't know how I got hog out of that...maybe from "herd" lol...silly me my apologizes

Now I have a problem with the malwarebytes log file...I followed your directions but the "VIEW" tab is not highlighted...the only ones that are able to be clicked are "DELETE and DELETE ALL" I hope I didn't screw something up here. You posted in the directions for this one a "SCREENSHOT" but there wasn't anything there for me to see and I did ask about it but nothing was said so I hope that after I ran the update all I had to do was click scan.

Sometimes you have to place a check in the log, then click export. Your doing fine. :) Did malwarebytes find anything?

Try to follow the directions again and see if you can export the log.

Also, is there a reason you use bit torrent?

I did that too...No it didn't find anything...I did put 2 check marks next to the 2 files that were there...the 1 file was the scan log and the other file was the protector log...but even with the check marks it wouldn't let me view it.

That bit torrent is what my daughter uses it to find and download songs and shows etc. I personally have no idea how to use it.

Ok I got it. I just installed your link again and ran it and when it was done I put a check mark next to both of the scans now but still now view available...so I tried to just click on the scan itself and made it blue and finally the view became available...Phew what a PIA So I'm attaching both scans for you. The 1st attachment is the 1st scan etc...

Just to let you know, bit torrent for downloading music and tv shows, movies etc is illegal. A lot of illegal things with torrents cause viruses and malware. Not all torrent programs are bad, but 80% of things you find/download with torrents are illegal. Torrent clients imho should never be installed on a pc. Anything you download from there you have no idea where it came from, who modified it etc. I highly suggest uninstalling it.

Also, If your daughter also uses your pc, I suggest creating a separate user account with standard user rights. They will get there own windows desktop when logging on, and will have there own documents folder, pictures etc.

    User Account - Create

Some good windows articles to read:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=windows-7

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=windows-7

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=windows-7

Each family member should have a separate account.

I believe you are clean, the last thing I would like you to run is tfc and sfc scan now:

Make sure your data is backed up either on an external hard drive or somewhere else before proceeding: (Just a precaution, have not seen anything bad ever happen with this but its a good idea, as you should always have a backup of your data. Sometimes malware moves your personal files to temp folders, which this tool cleans- but seeing as you are clean you will be fine.)

1.) Please download and save the file TFC by Old Timer. Again, save the file to your downloads folder or your desktop. Do not run it.

    Downloading TFC

2.) Close your programs before running this tool. TFC will close ALL open programs.

3.) Browse to where you saved tfc. Right click on tfc.exe and choose Run As Administrator.

4.) Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion. When it finishes it will say total files cleaned, and the start button will be grayed out. Click exit.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

Please Run sfc /scan now using option 2 in this tutorial: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Please post back the results.
Please indicate what message was displayed at the end:

    Windows found no integrity violations

    OR

Corrupt files were found, and windows was unable to fix them.

    OR

Corrupt files were found, and windows successfully repaired them

This is my laptop and nobody else uses it really...my daughter has her own at her place so I have no problem uninstalling it.

I have just a few more questions before I move on please...

I've never backed up this laptop...how do I do that? I don't have anything external so that's out...and I don't know what to back up...DEF need your help here please.

Now with the log from herdprotect...after I posted my 2nd log we didn't clean anything...did we need to?

Same for my logs with malwarebytes...I don't think we needed to do anything with those logs right?

Now everything that you had me download and all the txt files I have and log files etc...what do I do with all that now?

After I learn how to back up my laptop and do your next items...I think I'm going to need your help and advice on a few other things here. But that's after all of this.
