Ive testing basically EVERY AV that has a trail in Virtualbox and Symantec has been the best in protection...It did let a virus through once but the SONAR got it on boot-up. KIS 2010 did good but its VERY annoying and it takes a really big geek to use all its features. ESET blocks a lot but once one gets through your screwed (Had to re-install Xp in virtualbox b/c of that). MSE is the same but watch MSE because it will delete infected viruses that are needed for Windows to run...

G-Data is always on top in every test. I don't know why.

TrustPort is number 1. I have to say, I have never heard of it. From their site:

A total of twenty-five vendors took part in the test with their antivirus products, including the world's best known brands. Apparently they have several AV engines within the product from what I have read online, so I would suppose that's why it is so effective, although it would seem that scans are very slow and it might be a bit of a system resources hog.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on it though in any testing that you do.

I have read that G Data uses 2 AV engines, that is Avast and Bit Defender hence it has maximum detections. What's your suggestion about G-DATA?

Dunno...maybe try G-DATA and then try TrustPort if you've got some time with your setup and see how each one fares.

I would think that both might hog more system resources than products like Vipre and Nod, but it might be interesting to compare.
