W7 Defender vs MBAM

I have used and been a big fan of MalwareBytes free edition for a long time.
Until recently I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials.

Now that I have replaced MSE, Windows Defender has activated itself. Everything I have read says it is antimalware not antivirus and most places say to disable it if running MBAM.

Agree?

Part 2...is Malware Antiexploit Free something new?

Thanks.

Defender and Malwarebytes running together is good, stick with those... Mbam Pro is better protection than the free version.

I believe one of us is confusing windows 8.1 and windows 10TP windows defender with windows 7 windows defender,
They are not the same,
MSE is the same as win-8.1 and 10TP windows defender,
In other words you have No antivirus installed on windows 7 if only windows defender is turned on,
Cheers.
I'm not even going to get into mbam free.

MBAM Tidbits - FYI
There are a lot of recommendations and use for MBAM in SF from what I've seen. I use and recommend it, so here's some interesting info imho: - MBAM does not recommend running a Full Scan "normally". - An AV is better choice for "Full Scans" - MBAM does not keep "Historical (non active)" data in...

Update MBAM Pro 1.75 to 2.0
How do I update to 2.0 version of MBAM Pro? Do I have to clean the current installation and then reinstall or will my license carry over if I use the procedure for free users?

MBAM won't update
I tried to run a Malwarebytes scan last night but before scanning, I wanted to run the update. In the update tab, I noticed the update button is grayed out and won't allow me to update. It hasn't been updated in several weeks. Is this normal?
