Anything using 360 mb of ram is not killing your system. Your specs show 4 gigs

Post a picture from your computer like the one below.

Use this Tutorial by Brink to post the screen shot.

mbam is using 252 meg. my other apps are using another 2.5 gig so in all i'm using 70% of my total ram, which is where things stop moving for me. but i asked if 252 meg of ram usage is normal for mbam; all the comments i've seen say it is not.

Are you sure you understand the difference between MB and GB.
Post the picture I requested so we can take a look.

My system at the present time is using about 2 gigs of ram.

ausdavid I have no way of knowing how knowledgeable you are on such things. You have only been on the forum a short time and we haven't had a chance to learn much about each other.
    No insult was intended.

The reason I ask was your concern over 1/4 gig of ram with Malwarebytes Premium.

If it was my computer I would be looking at 108 processes you have running.
That is quite a few. The more processes running the more ram you use.

Just for comparing I have MSE and Malwarebytes Premium active.

Just Foxfire with this forum at the present time and I using 2 gigs of ram.
I do have msconfig Startup to a minimum and Services Non Microsoft to just Malwarebytes.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I believe mbam does check for updates on a interesting auto schedule every 10 minutes last I checked,
You might look at those settings or auto updating tasks,
They can make a network drag a bit as you can imagine any unknown operation that requires internet bandwidth will disrupt other internet operations,
Settings/ Automated scheduling/ Updates/ look at the frequency it's set on,
    Cheers.
