VLC Player 2.1.5 Write Access Violation Vulnerability

The current version of VLC is exposed to malware. This is known since November 2014 but was not yet fixed.

If you read further down they have a claim to have a new version listed but when you go to the site it is still showing 2.15.

I can't use VLC or it will blow my internal speakers out according to dell.

Yeah right. They were claiming since a while that they fixed the problem. But the release with the fix is still not available.

That sounds strange. Does Dell have any logic for that.

I could possibly still use VLC at low volume.

Here is the whole deal. I have no idea who is correct.

That sounds like a poor excuse for their cheap speakers. I have VLC on all my laptops - even the smallest 10" and 11.5" and never had a problem. But of course I don't blast music at maximum loudness.

Me, too, no problem with VLC on Dells and Customs at normal listening volumes, occasionally higher.
