I just installed MBAE free on a WTP Build 10049 VM.
I can click on activate and get a message showing the Premium version is needed.

    Attachment 354839
Curious. I can right click, left click, and wheel click on it and it just sets there and laughs at me.
What version of MBAE are you using ?
    I'm using the latest v 1.06.
I never used a previous version, so i can't comment on how they work.
1.05.1.1016. I'm not shown any updates being available or anywhere I can check for updates. Not very impressive.

    I have free 1.06.

    Expected behavior?
Or is English not my first language?
    >>I do not know for sure, as I do not yet have 1.06 on my boxes.<<

As explained HERE, some "newer" browsers were added to the default shields for 1.06 Free.
However, it seems that changing the shields (either to deactivate shields that are already activated, or to activate a Premium shield, or to create a custom shield) from anything other than the default does require a Premium license.

The overall behavior is the same in 1.05 and 1.06.
The only difference seems to be that, in 1.06, trying to turn something on or off that requires a Premium license generates a dialog to: 1) alert the user that the feature is unavailable in the Free version, and 2) prompt the user to purchase a Premium license.

Until I upgrade to 1.06 on my systems, I cannot confirm that.

But the MBAE product manager, @pbust, most certainly could do so HERE

    Thank you,

As explained HERE, the new build is not yet available via the auto-updater.
It will be pushed out gradually ("throttled") to existing users, starting soon.
If you wish to manually upgrade to 1.06 before then, you may download the 1.06 installer HERE.

    INSTALLATION
Simply download from our website. The link as always is http://downloads.mal...s.org/file/mbae and you can install on top of your existing installation.
In a week or two we'll start activating the automatic upgrades, so if you prefer not to do anything, simply relax and wait for your MBAE to upgrade itself.
    Thank you,

I have asked questions, made comments, reported issues on the MBAM forums.
There are issues that were reported long ago, and have not been fixed ...

If you want to work with them on these questions that's fine.
I've been there and done that with MBAM ...

imho they do what they want, usability is not their forte, and that's all i want to say about this.
I actually share some of your frustration with changes to the MBAM UI/UX. It is still an excellent product.
For the record, MBAE has its own product team and manager.
And it is a newer product that I expect will be further improved.
To do so, the team requires input from users.

I have done my best to help everyone here.
I am not a computer technician with a bench full of test boxes and VMs.
I am not a Malwarebytes developer or programmer.
And I don't think it's logical or fair to expect that I (or any other SF.com member) could funnel bug reports, complaints, performance problems, conflicts or "RFFs" to the MBAE team.
If for no other reason, such second-hand reports would lack the data needed for the team to replicate, identify and fix a problem.

There are many, other, more efficient ways to help improve the product: forum, help desk, social media, etc.

    Thank you,
