    Question about Com Surrogate

Is it normal for a Com Surrogate to show in the Task Manager when looking at a picture?
When closing the picture the Com Surrogate goes away, this also happens sometimes when switching to a difference folder.

    Thanks in advance.

I have run Avira, MS security programs, MalwareByte, Frst, Fixit and probable something else and not viruses or malware show up.

If you're referring to the default Windows built-in image viewer, then yes, it uses dllhost.exe (whose description in its version information is precisely "COM Surrogate"). As the viewer is really implemented in a dll file it uses this auxiliary process to launch it, and it stays open as long as you're using it, when closing it goes away.
References for this normal behavior are in the registry for the file associations of the jpg, bmp, png and other image types.
