    Hello Rose,

In addition, see if downloading and merging the .reg file for the Windows Defender service from the tutorial below may help. It will restore the default registry entries for the service. :)

    Rose1,

Error 0X80070002 is not the same error you were getting before.
Does it say: The program service stopped. You should restart it now.

Also, can you please tell us if you were infected prior to all this happening. If so, and there is still malware in your system, we may have a hard road to travel.

    OK...

Please go back to Post #8, and run the SystemLook and FSS programs again.

Let's see what they show this time, and we will take it from there.

    Thanks.

    Try the following...

You need to copy and paste this into the white box before clicking LOOK:
(Leave no space between the top of the white box and the beginning of the script)

    Code:
    :reg
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/services/WinDefend /sub

    :service
    WinDefend
    Also need the FSS.txt, please.

    Also, please download Security Check:
    SecurityCheck Download
    Save to your Desktop.

    Double-click: SecurityCheck.exe
Follow the on-screen instructions inside the black box.

When done, a Notepad report opens automatically, called: checkup.txt

Please post the checkup.txt in your reply, but, do not take any corrective actions!

When I try to paste in here it freezes the computer.

    Rose1,

In addition to providing the reults of the SecurityCheck, and a new FSS.txt...

Please use the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool.
Download: Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Download
Select the version that applies to your system: 32 bit

    Save it to your Desktop.

Double-click the downloaded file to run it.
When the tool opens, click Yes to the disclaimer.

    Press the Scan button.

When done, the tool makes a log, FRST.txt, in the same directory from which the tool is run (Desktop)

Please attach the FRST.txt in your reply.

The first time the tool is run, it also creates another log: Addition.txt
Also attach the Addition.txt in your reply.

Please make sure you post or attach the entire reports for SecurityCheck, and a new FSS.txt with all the items checked, as previously instructed.
