    How hide administrator account

I have a Win 7 machine I use in my office/home. When I first boot the machine all accounts are shown, including the Administrator account. I think I read somewhere that you can hide this account. Is this true? If so, how do I hide it? Moreover, if it is hidden, how then do you log on to it if, in some rare circumstance, I need to?

Also, when I boot the machine I see my standard login icon and my administrator login icon. In XP just one log-in came up and I was not forced to choose which one. Is this possible in Win 7?

    Thank you

    Hello wSplawn,

If you mean the built-in Administrator account and not the default adminsitrator account that was setup during the installation of Windows 7, then you can simply disable it. If needed, you can just enable it again (in Safe Mode if need be as well).

Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

When you have multiple accounts in Windows 7, you will have a icon for each one at startup in the welcome screen by default to select to log on to. These options below may help though:

    Log On Automatically at Startup

    or

Logon with Username and Password - Vista Forums

    Hope this helps,
